Rye Harbour Nature Reserve (Sussex Wildlife Trust)

I’m beyond thrilled to announce that my new project is working with Sussex Wildlife Trust.

It’s based around the changing face of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve across 2026. I will be visiting the reserve many times over the year and I’ll also be in residence at the reserve in July (14 – 20) so you can come along and see me at work, sign up for a workshop and more in the coming months.

All Artworks and Sketches will go on Sale for a limited time before my residency in June.

First Trip to the Reserve - Day Two

A very different day weather wise (just a bit of rain!) but an exceptional one as we were guided around the reserve by Barry Yates, the chairman of the Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, a wonderful organisation dedicated to helping and supporting the reserve. Developed Sketch

I played around with the first sketch quite a lot, as I wanted to explore the possibility of making this the feature piece of the whole project. The jury is out on whether this makes it as the feature piece, but I like the overall effect.

First Sketch!

I started this sketch onsite during the pouring rain. So, along with the fact it's the very first sketch of the project, this will always have a special place in my heart.
