“There is an old war cemetery very close to us in the Royal Victoria Country Park and it’s one that we walk through pretty regularly, especially recently! In that cemetery is an ancient scots pine that has guarded the area for centuries. It just so happens that the sun rises through the tree making it look wonderful, especially on a misty morning. It’s the feeling of a misty morning through this ancient tree that I am aiming for with this piece
This is the first piece using a technique of smudging the biro ink. This gives a more subtle effect and a blue tinge to the work. Then, when I add additional white oil paint over the top of some areas, this changes the ink to a sepia tone. Therefore subtle colour variances can be introduced to a predominantly black and white media.”
The frames for my smallest works are bought in especially, in order to keep costs as competitive as possible. They are made from Abachi wood, a lightweight hardwood that is perfect for high quality framing.
At present, I can only ship to the UK via the website. I can ship to other destinations, but I’ll need you to get in touch, using the contact me form, for a quote if buying from outside the UK.
