“Trees are just stunning plants, so much so, in fact, that it seems strange calling them just plants. It feels like they can’t just be called plants, there must be another category to capture their majesty. They are the biggest plants on the planet and are interwoven with our history, beliefs and religions. The oak is very special to the cultures of our island and it’s not difficult to understand why. This oak was seen on a walk in the New Forest on a wonderful morning.
It was done predominantly in Bic biro, but I’ve also added white oil paint over the top of some areas. This is done to enhance the work, add to the sense of depth and increase the focus on the main subject matter.”
The frames for my smallest works are bought in especially, in order to keep costs as competitive as possible. They are made from Abachi wood, a lightweight hardwood that is perfect for high quality framing.
