Original Art Drawing

“Simplicity is so often the key to a good composition and Mute Swans lend themselves to this approach, because they have such stunningly simple beauty. Swans are often a very common sight for us, meaning that they’re beauty can often be over looked. They say familiarity breeds contempt, but I’ve tried to focus on the bare essentials here. This has enabled me to communicate that beauty in a fresh way. Swans have been at the centre of our culture for centuries. In Celtic myth they steered the sun boat across the heavens, in Greek myths gods transformed themselves into swans and that’s not even mentioning the ugly duckling or royal ownership! For many reasons they’re the perfect subject matter for continued artworks.”
