“Elephants have always been a favourite of mine, but it was seeing them in the wild in Kenya that cemented their place in my heart. The sheer power and scale of them really amazed me, even though I’d seen them on TV and in zoos many times. I was surprised, and a little confused, that they had such an impact on me, but it’s something I’ll never forget. With this composition I’ve tried to inject a bit of movement as well as making the elephant really fill the frame to try and convey their scale.”
