Coastal Plover

Original Artwork

A unique piece of wall art capturing the spiritual moment the sun sets over the north cornish coast, and a local bird spends the last few moments of the day looking for a final meal before flying to its hidden roost. This unique piece of biro art offers the opportunity to escape into a british scene. Nothing else can match owning an original piece of art, where you can see and feel the unique textures and every detail of the original artwork.

Description

Original Artwork

“The natural beauty of the Cornish coast is the focus of this piece of wall art. I’ve visited Cornwall regularly since I was a boy and have relatives there still. It wasn’t really until I grew up that I came to appreciate the sheer beauty of the place, up until then it was simply my playground. Along with my sister and cousins, I’d spend hours and days playing in the fields, beaches and rock pools of the area. This particular cove is near St Agnes on the north coast of the county, where some good friends live. On this specific occasion we were out walking as the sun was setting providing some truly stunning light and creating a mosaic of coastal rock and mirror calm sea.

No doubt it would have been great fun as a boy, but it took my breath away as an adult. Hopefully I’ve managed to capture some of that feeling in the work.

Unprimed linen canvas, primed with a diluted white oil paint, is used as the base for a biro drawing of the subject matter. Up to 6 bic biro pens are used in the creation of each piece of art.”

Framing

I make all my own frames for my original artworks, I use mouldings, paints and varnishes of the finest specification. The colours are individually selected to match each piece of art, ensuring the best finish possible.
