Stubbornness. Sadly, this is a trait that I have been associated with quite a few times. Being generous, you could say that it’s helped me achieve the small amount I have in my life, but I’m sure there are many who would put it differently.
However, stubbornness is the reason we visited Hoselaw Loch in Scotland. I was absolutely determined to visit reserves in all four home nations, so we added quite a few extra miles to include Hoselaw Loch. There’s no way I’ve done justice to the fantastic country of Scotland, but I thought it was better to at least get there.

It’s a very small reserve and we could only access it from one edge. You could argue that we could only look at it rather than actually get into it. It’s a loch after all and we didn’t have our swimming costumes with us! The water was beautiful, passing the sunlight to us through the trees, through thousands of glittering sparkles.

We didn’t see much wildlife, but there was a brief visit from a cormorant, and for once we had been rewarded by my stubbornness.
