This commission is something completely unique. I met Wendy, and her very close friend, at the Blenheim Palace Christmas craft fair. Over quite a long conversation with this lovely lady, I found out that her husband had recently passed away. His ashes had been scattered in a bluebell wood close to his work, as a harp maker, at Pilgrim Harps.
What followed was a wonderful experience for me. I met the Pilgrim Harps team, including family members, during a trip to the bluebell wood, minus bluebells as it was the wrong time of year. The team and family were exceptionally welcoming and were generous enough to give me a wonderful tour of the workshops.
All that remains for me to say, is that it has been a complete privilege to have been involved with Wendy and to paint this piece. I'll leave the rest to Wendy.
"I love it! It means so much to me and as a family, to have that special memory. Thank you so much for making it happen."
