The focus of the last month has very much been the Black Bear commission. It’s the largest painting I’ve worked on to date, at over 13 square feet, and things are going pretty well. You can catch up on my progress on my gallery page, where I’ll post the latest images as I move towards completion.
I’ve had a complete gallery restructure. There have been many new paintings placed in the “Originals For Sale” Gallery as I’ve finally managed to take images of them and get them uploaded. I’ve also added new galleries for “Portaits” and “Landscapes/Marine” to hold the new work and subject matter. Enjoy.
My first Commission since leaving work has been completed. It’s for a friend whose son’s favourite animal is the Polar Bear, and the brief was to do a quick oil sketch. Click on the image to see larger versions of some previous commissions, including Archie’s Bear.
It’s finally happened. After years of planning and saving, I’ve left work. I’m throwing in a career in Management to try and live the dream of paying the bills with my art work. Mad? Maybe, but you have to try these things, it would all just be boring otherwise! The new life has just started.
This, in a nutshell, is the blog of artist Cy Baker. All latest art and ramblings will be posted here first.
