The return of the Biro!

Whilst we’ve been in Costa Rica I’ve been focusing on oil paints, but as our trip starts to draw to an end, it was time to return to the biro.

I’ve really enjoyed it! I think it’s the simplicity of the technique that I like. All you’re doing is drawing with an implement that never goes blunt, always gives you the same width of line, never needs sharpening and only runs out once or twice during each picture. It’s just you and the line.

You can find out about the 2 pieces I’ve done so far (there’s 1 more piece to do, and after that, I’m out of canvas!) here

  1. Hi Cy
Thanks for the email. All looking amazing, especially love those butterflies. As you say lots of movement there.
Sad about the owl as it is a lovely piece. As you say an experience.

    1. Hi Bron,

Great to hear from you, and I really hope all is well?

Thanks for the kind words. It’s fine about the Owl’s, you live and learn, I think I’ve ended up with a better piece of artwork, so it’s all good!
